One of the best way to make NPs on Neopets is to play games. Here are my pieces of advice on how to get good scores at the many games I play. If you have more ideas on how to master these games (I’m by no means the best at them all!) please feel free to neomail me (mamberrific) with your submissions. They will be proofread and possibly tested, then posted here with your name. I hope these help, good gaming to you!

Snowmuncher:
This is a puzzle game that plays like an action game. I think this adds to the difficulty of the game. If you play it like an action survival game and keep in mind that you can destroy blocks in a puzzle-like way, you have the right attitude.

Basically what I do when I play this game is keep an eye on the Bloat-B-Gone potions and let them determine my path. They are often laid out down the screen near one side or the other, and if you move around from side to side too much you will likely end up missing the potion.

Try to only get gems if they are in your way or one or two spaces away. The longer you live and the more snow you can munch, the more points you will get.

Each block of snow you munch gives you a point. If you can drop blocks in sets of four you don’t have to munch them and you still get the points. In the earlier stages it is easy to set up chain reactions of falling blocks that will give you massive amounts of points.

Also, try to make sure that if you’re going to be under blocks that will be falling, there is a block of the same color above you near where it will fall, or it will knock you out. Out of the first level you should be able to get over 700 points without dying.

Another thing to keep in mind is that if you get to the bottom of the screen quickly and still have room to eat more snow that you can get easy points by munching remaining snow before the time runs out. Be careful to save room to eat the last blocks to touch bottom!

I would not release worms unless I was on a level below where their block is. This way you can dig off the screen before they can come after you, and the gem will fall down to you instead of you having to get near the worm. In the first few levels, avoid time blocks. You won’t need them if you are efficient in digging, and they take up room in the little guy’s stomach.

There are other ice blocks that I’ve tried to identify, unsuccessfully, and I’m not quite sure what they do. I know one gives you points, and he says yum, and one has an eyeball, and he says yuck. They’re pretty rare.

So, keep an eye on this little bear’s medicine, watch out for falling rocks, match as many colored blocks together as possible, pick up shiny things where they are easy to get, and stay away(under) from worms… You’ll likely have to make it to level 5 before you get enough points for the avatar, so practice staying alive!

Jelly Blobs of Doom:
If you go to Jelly World, you will notice that they have a game there that is unlisted on the games page called Jelly Blobs of Doom. I really enjoy this game, and have gotten 1000 points out of it before. I can generally get a score of 400 in a reasonably short time if I concentrate.

You start out very small and get bigger, if there is a blob out there and you think you might not be bigger than it, pass on it, more will come. Getting bigger is good because you can eat more of the jellies that come out, and the bigger the jelly is, the more points it gives you. On the other hand, the bigger you get, the harder it is to avoid larger jellies than yourself.

Try to stay in the middle of the screen. You can go around the screen and come out the other side, but this is hazardous because you might end up in an emerging jelly.

Take your time, and remember, the blobs only move horizontally or vertically, so you can tell right when they come on the screen where they will end up. This way you can try to get in the way of the ones you want to eat, and away from the ones you want to avoid with time to spare.

Once you get the basics down practice sliding diagonally. This makes you go faster than most jellies, and increases your accuracy.

I guess these aren't really secret tips, but they work, so take a little patience and go conquer some jellies! (of doom, no less.)

Meerca Chase:
I haven't actually started writing a guide for this one, but here are my tips... Usually when I play for quick points, I play on hard mode, but when I want to play for longer for a higher score I play on medium. I'd also lower the resolution quality so the meerca is more responsive to your keystrokes. On high quality I've had problems with a delay in turning. Also, it tends to work best if you do your negg collection in a square pattern, and take your time collecting them. If you think you might have hesitated too long to safely get the negg on this pass, just do another lap. I haven't gotten this avatar yet, but I'm working on it. Practice practice practice is what it takes to master some of these games... Sorry I don't have much more to put in about this one, but it's really a very simple game.

Bilge Dice:
This game gives you the potential to make lots of NP, I’ve gotten as many as 7500 in a day from it. It is a chance game, so be prepared with NP to lose at first. It also may take a bit of time to get this many points, but I usually find it to be worth the investment.

Playing the game multiple times allows you to bet progressively more. The highest bet allowed is 1000 NP. Once you have played often enough to be able to bet 500 or 1000, I’d start the game with 5000 NP on hand.

To begin you should set a limit on how much you are willing to lose before you start playing. (I’d say this for all chance games). I did’t always set one, the lowest I’ve gone is -17,000, and I was too stubborn to allow myself to lose that much. It’s not a good situation to get into, and it happens when you don’t pay attention to how many times you’re betting 1000 and losing. You can make the comeback, it just takes a long time.

The first things to look for are your qualifying dice, 1 and 4. Once you have those, you’re at least in the running to win. Pick them up as you can through the game. I usually reroll anything below a 4 because you have a 50% chance of getting a better roll on a 3, a 66% chance on a 2, and unless you roll a 1 twice in a row, you’re improving. If you don’t have the qualifying dice, do not take more than 3 dice out in the first round. This increases your chances of getting them in later rolls. Watch your opponents’ hands too, because if they are all rolling low, you may not have to work as hard to beat them all.

Getting a tie is preferable to losing, if you see that it is possible and you’ve got the 5 you need to tie the highest score, take it instead of rerolling. Chances are you won’t get the 6 you need to win, unless of course you’re trying for a streak, in which case these NP gaining tactics aren’t for you, necessarily.

Next comes strategic betting. Keep an eye on the daily winnings you have on the first page. Work your way up to 3000+ NP for the day, betting 500 or 1000. Don’t bet 1000 once you get between 2000-3500 NP, because it will cause you to go over the 5000 allowed for the day if you win. If you are in the 2000-3000 NP range, bet 500. Once you are above 3000, start trying to bet 1000 points. That way you are sure to get 6000+ NP.

I play this game almost every day and I’m still working on strategies for winning streaks. My highest streak so far is 6 so let me know if you have ideas!

A Tip from Rice: I would like to add my tip to the bilge dice, and that is.. you will need a calculator to work out your score exactly to 4990 points.. that means, you will have to LOSE a few games and you will have to bid different amounts most times.. when you reach 4990 pts, go for the 1000 bid.. you will score the max of 7990 pts per day, and if you are exceptionally lucky, you can strike an extra 1000 bonus on the last game, making total score 8990.. there is a lot of strategy in this game and one loss can set you back a few hours! I gave up going for the trophy, as I hit the 1000 bonus on two occassions and that put me just over 5000pt, so there was no way i could max out to 7990.. I need to play again and get exact figures before I add to the page.. Have fun! ~Rice~

Freaky Factory:
This game has been called the most confusing game TNT has ever released. I love it:)
In order to make points, you need to make toys. The toys have different values based on color and species of the pet. If you make lots of toys in a row you get a consecutive bonus that rises quickly. The consecutive bonus and having lots of time left on the clock in early levels is the key to making high points.

The game is kind of sensory overload until you figure out what is actually important to watch while you play. In order of importance, you should watch:
  • The blobs flying across the top of the screen.
  • The level of liquid in the vats.
  • The various special blobs (detailed below).
  • The Grundo Thief.
  • The icon telling you how many blobs of a certain color you need to make the next toys.
  • The level of waste you are accumulating.
  • The time on the clock.

Often I don’t pay attention to the clock at all, and get startled when my game suddenly runs out of time. This is fine, you make more points if you don’t worry about it.

The Grundo Thief is your enemy! He takes your toys off the conveyor. This puts a hole in your consecutive bonus, and you don’t want that. You can get rid of him in two ways, either by clicking on him, or hitting him with a well placed blob.

Red blobs always come from the right side of the screen and blue blobs always come from the left side. If you see something of those colors coming from opposite sides, it is an EVIL blob, and you don’t want to click on those! They put your waste up ¾ of the way. Other blobs you should know are:
  • Ice blob: slows down the conveyor the toys are on.
  • Speed blob: speeds up the conveyor the toys are on.
  • Radioactive blob: upgrades all toys on the conveyor one level (great points!)
  • Angel blob: fills one vat all the way.
  • Time blob: gives you 5-10 more seconds to work. (these start on level 5)
  • Atomic blob: fills all vats all the way. (these start on level 7)

Try to keep all of the vats filled to the top but not overflowing, and keep bonking the Grundo Thief, and you’ll be well on your way to the 1250 points you need to make 1000. To reach this goal you’re doing very well if you can get 250+ at the end of level 2 and 600+ at the end of level 5.

Good luck, and please, whack that Grundo Thief a couple times for me!

    Whack A Kass:
This is a game that shouldn’t eat up too much of your time, but give you 6-700 points per play.

First you need to work your way up through the bread and stick levels. In order to do so, you need the wind to be at a speed of 7-9. I use my spacebar to control when the Kass drops and when I hit with the bat. The real secret to this game is Kass’s cape. When the wind is high enough, hit the spacebar to release Kass. As he’s falling, try to hit him as high in the air as you can. Keep the space bar down until he reaches the highest point in his flight, and then release it. This will keep his cape smooth on the rise, and let it flap causing him to glide downwards on the fall. When he hits the ground, tap the spacebar as he rises from the bounces, and hold it down as he slides. This will maximize the distance he travels and thus maximize your points! In order to speed up the process, I often release Kass by tapping space if the wind speed when the game starts is low. Each time it starts at a random number, and you can get it up to 8 or 9 easily within a few games. Another time to watch for is if the wind speed is an odd number, because it tends to change in jumps of 2. So if you get a starting speed of 5, watch it. If you get a starting speed of four or it immediately drops, just press space a few times to start again.

Something just for fun: You can change the petpet that brings the measurement flag out if you whack the Kass between 800 and 850. There is a grey rock on the ground, and if you click on it while the scoring screen is up, you will get a surprise your next game. This only lasts while the window is open.
